One-of-a-Kind Glass Chain Hanging Sculpture
This glass chain is structured around contrast—dark and light, opaque and translucent, stillness and movement. Deep cobalt blues, inky black glass, and concentric amber forms move vertically through the piece, creating a strong visual axis that draws the eye up and down the chain.
Several links feature circular, eye-like forms formed from layered glass, while others resolve into bold fields of blue or black. These shifts give the chain a deliberate rhythm—alternating moments of intensity and calm. As light passes through, the blues soften and the amber tones glow, revealing depth beneath the surface.
Each link began as part of a larger vessel and was cut, refired, and cold-worked into its final form. The blackened metal connections allow the chain to hang freely and move gently with air, activating the work without distracting from its structure.
This piece is meant to hang in open space, where light and movement complete the composition.
